RACE OF CHAMPIONS DIRT 602 SPORTSMAN SERIES HEADS TO HUMBERTSONE SPEEDWAY FOR THE PETE COSCO MEMORIAL SUNDAY, AUGUST 21
The Race of Champions Dirt 602 Sportsman Modified Series returns to action Sunday, August 21 for the traditional running of the Pete Cosco Memorial.
The Pete Cosco Memorial has been a staple event for the Race of Champions Dirt 602 Sportsman Modified Series and returns for the 2022 season to honor and pay tribute to “one of the nice guys” in racing.
Pete’s grandson, Jordan Cosco of St. Catherines, Ontario-Canada, will be in the field honoring his Grandfather on Sunday. Cosco finished 6th in the first Race of Champions Dirt 602 Sportsman Series race on Friday, August 12 at Ohsweken Speedway.
“This is a race we always gear up for and try to put our best foot forward for,” stated Cosco. “We carry the 17c, which was always his number proudly on our cars. This Sunday is always a great night at Humberstone with a lot of memories, family and friends. We are looking forward to it.”
Cody McPherson of St. Catherines, Ontario will lead the Series to Humberstone on Sunday following his victory this past Friday night at Ohsweken Speedway. McPherson also won the Pete Cosco Memorial the last time the Race of Champions Series visited Humberstone in 2019.
The Race of Champions Series joins a big night at Humberstone for the Pete Cosco Memorial, which includes the Modifieds and Humberstone’s exciting divisional racing.

When: Sunday, August 21, 2022. Grandstands open at 4:30 pm. Racing at 6:30 pm
Directions: The track is located is just a short drive from Niagara Falls and St. Catherines, Ontario as well as just 20-miles from downtown Buffalo and the Peace Bridge at 1716 HWY 3 in Port Colborne, Ontario.
