SPENCER SPEEDWAY PRESENTED BY WILBERTS U-PULL IT 65th SEASON WILL BEGIN WITH TRIBUTE TO DON PRATT ‘62’ FOR THE RACE OF CHAMPIONS ASPHALT MODIFIED SER

On Friday, May 31, 2019 the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series will kick off the historic 65th season of racing at the ½-mile Rochester area speedway, with the running of the Tribute to Don Pratt ‘62’. Pratt, from Lima, N.Y., was a steadfast modified competitor until his untimely death in September of 1989.

Several competitors, including Daryl Lewis, Jr., of Ontario, N.Y., requested a race to honor Pratt.

“Don was a tremendous guy and he loved racing Modifieds,” stated Lewis, Jr. “Don and my Father, (Daryl, Sr.) were very close and we felt this would be a great way to honor Don and his family for the commitment and sacrifices they made to modified racing. It’s an event we are all looking forward to.”

The race itself will be a 62-lap dash recognizing Pratt’s number and it will be the second race of the Series season. The Race of Champions Super Stocks and Wilbert’s U-Pull It Four Cylinders, will join the card as well as a “Food Truck Frenzy” featuring local food trucks and tastes from the area.

There will be $2 coupon “schedule cards” at locations throughout the area, valid for a discount on a general admission ticket.

On Friday, May 24, Spencer Speedway presented by Wilbert’s U-Pull It will host an open practice for all divisions. The grandstands will be open with free admission, while a pit pass will cost anyone wanting to enter the pits $25. The pits will open at 4:30 pm on practice day, with cars taking to the track at 5:30 pm.

The gates open at 5:00 pm at Spencer Speedway for fans, with qualifying to follow at 7:15 pm.

When: Friday, August 31, 2018. Grandstands open at 5:00 pm, Qualifying at 7:15 pm; all racing to follow.

Tickets: $22 General Admission; $19 for Seniors/Military (65 years and older and Military with proper identification); Children 5-to-15 years of age will be $10; Family Four Pack $56; Children 4-and-under will be Free.
