RACE OF CHAMPIONS MODIFIED RETURNS TO SHANGRI-LA II SPEEDWAY WITH “NIGHT BEFORE THE GLEN – ROD SPALDING CLASSIC” SATURDAY, MAY 9

The Race of Champions Modified Series will run one of its most traditional events earlier than usual this season when it returns to Shangri-La II Speedway on Saturday, May 9.

The “Night Before The Glen – Rod Spalding Classic” will feature a 75-lap event for the Race of Champions Modified Series at the fast, concrete-surfaced facility located near Owego, NY.

“It’s going to be a little different,” offered Matt Hirschman, who opened the season with a win at Mahoning Valley Speedway on April 18. “It’s a unique facility and it is very fast. You have to be on your toes and ready for anything. We will be looking for an exciting race with it at this new location.”

The Modified division will headline the program with the 75-lap feature event.

The always competitive Race of Champions Super Stock Series will also kick off its 2026 season, while the Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series will join the card as well.

Qualifying for the “Night Before the Glen – Rod Spalding Classic 75” will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, alongside the Super Stock, FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series, and the Shangri-La II Speedway Hobby Stock division.

The event will be broadcast live on FloRacing.
